We have access to historical AIS data going as far back as 2009. For any particular vessel this will show port calls and, when underway, the following data:

  • MMSI
  • Status
  • Lat Lon position
  • Speed
  • Heading
  • Plus a time stamp (UTC) for each position fix

Additional information such as the vessel type, cargo and flag may also be available, depending on the programming of the vessel’s transponder at the time. The data is supplied to the user as a CSV file for download.

As well as searching for specific vessels, searches can also be targeted based on parameters such as:

  • Specific areas – defined by Lat Lon
  • Specific times – single point or defined period
  • Ports – over a stated time frame
  • Vessel size
  • Vessel type
  • Cargo carried

Precise searches can be easily constructed through a combination of factors. For an example area, time, location, vessel type and size can all be entered to gain a very specific view of what was operating in a certain place over a certain time.

Use the form below to enter the name and other parameters of the vessel(s) that you wish to track historically. Alternatively, contact us today to find out more. Email us on sales@bigoceandata.com or call +44 (0)207 998 3048
